WORKING WITH THE CATAPULT SYSTEMS ABOARD AIRCRAFT CARRIER

His note to all -
I'm loving out to sea life. I'm getting all my quals up and I just took my E-4 exam. I
was pretty nervous but I felt I did fairly well. I had a little trouble on a few
components. I just had a board to get qualified in steamwatch and after the board
my chief pulled me into the office and told me I was his top airman. He says he is
happy to have me as an ABE. I am super excited about the direction of my career
right now and I hope it stays in this direction.
-Seth Morris

In addition, he says that while he was at sea for a short couple of weeks, the
aircrew he is part of on the USS Harry S. Truman CVN 75 launched 1145 air craft in
14 days!

FORMER DAVENPORT WASHINGTON SEA CADET AND
USMC Sgt. Abraham Kaschmitter -
An active member of the Davenport unit of the US Naval Sea Cadets, he was
always meant to be a Marine according to his brother.  He graduated from
Davenport HS in 2003 and joined the USMC and did one tour of Iraq associated
with the USMC and scheduled for a second tour when sadly, he was stricken with
a virus he contracted in the spring and passed away July 13th, 2009 just days
before his 24th birthday which was on July 24th.  Our sympathies to his family and
friends on the passing of a great cadet and Dedicated Marine!
